Cannon School’s college counselors, students speak in Davidson

Anne Shandley, Director of College Counseling, and Alex Segura, Associate Director of College Counseling, presented a talk entitled “Getting the Most Out of High School: Creating Opportunities for the Future” – to 40 guests in the chapel at Davidson United Methodist Church.

Throughout the presentation, Anne and Alex shared ideas and insights on ways parents can encourage their middle and upper school children to explore their interests and passions as they move through their high school years.

Cannon School seniors Stephanie S. and Crystal B. then followed up with presentations on how their experiences over the past few years have informed and impacted their choices of colleges and potential areas of study.

It was clear throughout the presentation that Cannon School is both a place where caring adults embrace all that is wonderful about children AND a place where thoughtful, curious children enjoy the opportunity to explore and discover their interests and passions in an encouraging and supportive environment.

So Anne, Alex, Stephanie, and Crystal — Thank you for your time last night and for all you do for Cannon School!!
