Bill Gates at the NAIS Annual Conference 8am EST March 1

Bill Gates is co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Along with co-chair Melinda, he shapes and approves grant-making strategies, advocates for the foundation’s issues, and helps set the overall direction of the organization. The primary goal: Expand opportunity to the world’s most disadvantaged people.

Bill Gates is a graduate of Lakeside School (and perhaps the most famous Harvard drop out ever). Through their foundation, he and Melinda Gates have invested over $250 million dollars in improving education in the US.

I am looking forward to hearing from Gates himself as he discusses his thoughts on education and the role of independent schools in America’s educational landscape. I’ve heard much of what other people say he’s said.

I expect that the Twitter feed on this particular live-blog will be very active and I’m grateful to Jason Ramsden from Ravenscroft School (@Raventech) for volunteering to help curate the feed.

Follow the conversation live during Gates’s talk (or read it after). You can also set up a reminder email for yourself via the same link.
