Young Alumni Spotlight: Cassie Calvert ’12

Currently in her sophomore year at Duke University, Cassie Calvert ’12 spent the beginning of the summer with the Christian organization, PREDISAN, working alongside a doctor in a medical clinic in Catacamas, Honduras. Following her mission trip, Cassie spent the rest of the summer in New York City working as an intern with MNA Productions, Inc., a production company held by award-winning actor/director/writer/producer Tony Lo Bianco.

While in NYC, Cassie attended a taping of Katie Couric’s talk show and had the opportunity to speak with Katie after the show about her aspirations in the field of journalism. Since returning to Duke’s campus, Cassie has landed a job as student host for Coach Cutcliffe’s Duke Football Show on the Durham TV station as well as the Duke University Broadcasting Company. Cassie is also a Duke Campus Representative for Headbands of Hope.

Congratulations, Cassie, on your many achievements since graduating from Cannon!
