 Junior Females: Leadership Conference opportunity:  Saturday February 1, 2014. Meredith College will offer its annual women’s leadership development conference for high school juniors. If you are currently in a leadership position or you aspire to assume leadership in your senior year, this conference can help you become a more effective leader in your school or community.   In order to provide the best learning environment for academic success, the US library is now a “game free” zone. Students who choose to work in the US library agree to study quietly as each of us prepares for mid-term exams.  If you

want to relax and play video games, update your fantasy football stats, watch YouTube videos, etc. please use the student commons. The game free zone is in effect during the library operating hours (7:30 am to 5:30 pm)  including lunch, break,and student choice.

Not sure what a GAP Year is?  This is a perfect way to find out!  All upper school students are invited to attend the Lunch and Learn to discover how to plan a semester or year of travel, service, work or adventure prior to attending college.  What do colleges think of GAP years? How to I apply to both college and GAP Year programs?  Where do I find GAP year programs? All of these questions and more will be addressed – Hope to see you there!

Parents: FYI Matt Bellace will be speaking to students tomorrow during community meeting.

Matt Bellace has been traveling the country as a professional speaker and stand-up comedian.  Dr. Bellace has a PhD in clinical neuropsychology, which is the study of the brain and behavior.  He is the author of the book, “A Better High” and was a regular on truTV’s, “World’s Dumbest.”  His comedy can be heard on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
